Oklahoma...who would have thought?

One Last Denver Ride

Who would have thought that a year into our Colorado adventure we'd be moving to....Oklahoma?! It was sad to say goodbye to our Denver friends, but we couldn't resist the Bartlesville, Oklahoma charm (not to mention the incredible opportunity for Blake to work on one of the largest oil companies in the country).

Here are a few updates since we've moved...

We made the best of living in a hotel room for the first month of our Oklahoma move...Happy Birthday Blake!

A few winter blizzards helped welcome us into our new home, which Blakey loved of course

Blakey discovered his passion in life - Golf

He literally can't get enough...we hope his skills match his dedication

Somehow we've managed to squeeze in a little learning between his rounds of golf

Mutton Busting

Our friend's little boy was a finalist in the Mutton Busting portion of Douglas County's Rodeo this weekend. We had a blast watching the little 'cowboys' take their first ride. One boy had to be pried off the sheep by a rodeo clown after it apparently ran out of gas. The boy must have listened well to his dad's sound advice to 'never let go, no matter what'. Blakey was enthralled from the very beginning. Not sure if it was the actual mutton busting or the popcorn, but either way, I see a cowboy in the making.

Splashpad

We decided to check out a new park in our area - Elk Ridge Park. The city spent a whopping $4.7 million creating the masterpiece. Was it worth all the money? I know a certain 1 year old who sure thinks it was!

Devil's Head Hike

We took Blakey on his first hike to Devil's Head. I think he liked it!

Blakey's 1st Birthday

Blakey had a blast opening presents. He had a smile and a comment for every one.

Overjoyed with his new 'goggie'

Blakey discovered a new game last week - pretend to give someone a piece of food, then pull it away at the last second. Here he shows off his new game at Daddy's expense.

Blakey's 1st Birthday was a success. He devoured a cupcake, opened tons of presents, and was in the spotlight all night. He loved every second!

We took the plunge...

After much deliberation, (ok really it was a lot of peer pressure and an assignment Blake had for school) we have decided to take the plunge and start a blog. I was determined to stay away from the blogging world until we had kids, but I guess we could use the practice before the little ones come along.

So for now, here are some pictures of what we've been up to...

Blake and I saw Grandma and Grandpa over the weekend. Grandma hasn't been doing too well, but she was talking up a storm while we were there!

Jess, Heather, and Kels came over last weekend for a "craft day". Our husbands told us how ridiculously lame we were for having an entire day devoted to crafty stuff, so they took off for Centerville where they did tax returns for people....thrilling, I'm sure. We made these little chick pops out of cake and frosting. We made quite the mess, but we had a blast!

Blake has decided that women use the word 'cute' far too often and refused to accept 'cute' as a descriptive word for our chick pops. So in lieu of Blake's disdain for the word 'cute', our chick pops turned out delightful:o) Once we showed off the finished products, I think the guys were pretty impressed. In your face boys....this beats crunching numbers any day!

Drake and Gavin had a blast in the tent we got for our wedding....thanks Craig & Rachel:o)
